Finally, tooth #16 is through!

Nolan has been working on the canine teeth for about 3 months now. I am proud to say that the last one has finally broken through! I am hoping this will call for less fussy days. He has such a terrible time with teething and all of his teeth have come in right after the other, starting at 4 months old.

Now on to the second molars!

18 Month Checkup

Nolan had his 18 month checkup last week. His stats were..................................

21 lbs & 31 inches tall!!!!!!

I can't believe he is finally over 20 lbs! He's always been such a little guy though. But he is finally back on the growth charts. :)

He also got three shots, all in the leg. Poor little guy took it pretty well. He cried for a few minutes until the nurse gave him a popsicle. That made things all better! The Dr says that he is doing great! Next checkup is in 6 months and no more shots until he goes to school!

He used the potty!

I am so excited! I was letting him run around naked after his bath and after a few minutes he goes and sits on the potty chair. I kneeled down to his level and told him that's where he goes pee and poop. About 30 seconds later he peed! I am just so proud of him. I haven't even started potty training yet because I didn't think he was ready. But I think he is afterall!

He is no longer a baby. :(

Oh Nolan! Where's your nose?

One of the things we have been working on learning is body parts. Nolan recently learned where his nose is! It only took a few tries before he got it. I recently was hanging out with a group of my friends and they were asking about what Nolan has been up to lately. So I tell them all about the words he is saying now and what he is learning. Being a show off, I ask Nolan, "Where is your nose?"

Some Bubbly

We were at a baby shower last week and one of the ladies left an open bottle of champagne out within his reach. Stupid me, I wasn't paying super close attention (nor did I realize the champagne was down). He grabbed the bottle and started chugging. I think he wore most of it and it must have burned his throat because he started crying. Poor baby! Stupid me (again), I forgot to bring him an extra change of clothes. He smelled like a drunk! Seriously though, who the heck leaves alcohol lying around when there are kids that can get in to it?

Geez, I thought I was going to have to wait until the teen years to deal with alcohol!

It's been a while

Wow! I can't believe how long it has been since I wrote a post here. So much for keeping up with this thing. Lol!

It seems like everyday we are reaching another milestone or reaching yet another achievement. Everyday he makes me proud to be a mom. Proud to be HIS mom. Everyday, I love him more. Oh how I love the sappiness motherhood brings.

Anyways, I will be posting some updates and pictures REALLY soon. I promise!

I love the water!

Playtime was outside yesterday. It was so warm and pretty, there was no reason to stay in. Nolan loves the water more than anything. When it gets a little warmer, we plan on getting him a little pool. I can't wait!

We now have a WALKER!!

Nolan took his first steps on April 11th! I was beginning to think that it was going to be at least another month or so before he'd start walking. He has shown no interest in walking, just cruising. I guess he just decided to get up and go! We are so proud!! It is officially time to set things up just a little higher.

Our First Easter

Well, technically this wasn't our first Easter but it is the first one Nolan got to enjoy. Last year he was only about 5 or 6 weeks old so we didn't do anything. Grandma B, Aunt Cassy and Uncle Steve came to visit. We also met Grandma's new "friend" named Dean, who by the way is super nice!



While I cooked, Aunt Cassy and Nolan colored some pretty Easter eggs! Nolan had a blast with Auntie, which he always does. Never fails. :) After doing Easter eggs Nolan fell and hit his mouth on the chair. Poor guy busted his little lip open. :( Then we had some yummy chicken marsala, lemon herb chicken, roasted potatoes, asparagus, bread and for dessert.....TIRAMISU!! My favorite! I don't know why every year I make my food Italian themed. Maybe I have a little in my blood. Hmmmm.



After dinner we had an Easter egg hunt, kind of. Nolan isn't walking yet so we just set him down in the grass and let him at the eggs. He had so much fun! I can't wait to see what next Easter is like!

I'm ONE today!!!

Nolan had his big family party today! He had so much fun but was so tired by the end of the day. He fell asleep before he could have cake and open presents.

The weather was absolutely GORGEOUS! It was 70 degrees and perfect!

First time in a swing!

He was not impressed at all! He gave me a dirty look the entire time he was in it! Poor guy! What will he do when Aaron builds him a swing set? :)

Adventures of the Paperclip (Part 2)

We found it! We found it! After many rounds of prune baby food and almost a suppository, he pooped it out!! I have never been so happy to change a poopy diaper in my life!

This will be a nice little story to add to the baby book. lol!

The Adventures of the Paper Clip (Part 1)

So Nolan found a paperclip. I have no idea where he found it but he did. He started choking and gasping for air. I stuck my pinky down his throat and he spit it up. As I was trying to retrieve it, he swallowed it! So I frantically call the ER and of course they couldn't give me any advice, so they transferred me to a 24 hour hotline. After 3 hours of waiting, they called me back. They said that everything should be fine and just watch for it to pass.

What a night that was! Seriously, why does everything HAVE to go into the mouth?

Alturas Birthday Pics!!!!

Overall, everything went well! About 16 people showed up. I am very glad not everyone came because our house was just way too small for all that I invited. Next year I will probably rent a building instead.

Because most of the kids were so young we decided against games. Instead we filled up a ton of balloons and left them out all over the place. We also got those huge balloons with the rubber bands on one end. I think they are called punch balloons. The kids went crazy over those!

I think he enjoyed his cake but he did NOT want to get his hands dirty at all! So, he went in head first!





Not very messy, I must say. :)

He had such a wonderful time. I look forward to our family party in Chico on the 8th!

Fun park day!!

This was definently out of the norm for this time of year. We had nice enough weather to go to the park! I have to say that Nolan was by no means thrilled by it all. Hopefully in a few more months he'll have more fun.

5 more days.....

until Nolan's local birthday party! I am so excited for it! I still have a million things to do but even so, I'm ecstatic! The only thing I am worried about is the weather. We supposedly have a huge storm heading our way and if that happens, the grandparents probably won't be able to make it. :( I am praying for SUNLIGHT!!!!!

Tonight, I might let him try out a practice cake smash. Hehee.

He stood on his own!

Nolan stood unassisted for about 30 seconds yesterday! He looked around, realized he wasn't holding on and immediately dropped to his knees. I wish I would have had my camera with me! It won't be long until he's running up and down the hallways. I can't wait!!

Snow is so depressing!

Seriously, when is this crap going to stop? It is so depressing. I swear I haven't seen any sunshine for 2 weeks. It's wearing on us all. Nolan is SO fussy and I'm sure the weather plays a part. He's so used to going out and about for hours at a time but we can't do that in this weather. Crappy, crappy, crappy snow. I'm tired of it! Well, enough of the complaining. Hopefully tomorrow I can post something happy!

Went to the doctor today

Nolan has been refusing solid foods for over a week now. Today I decided to take him to the clinic to make sure nothing was wrong. Well, everything is just fine! The dr said he's probably just teething. I'm so happy he isn't sick! He also saw a new Dr and I really liked him! I have been driving 45 miles for every.freaking.appointment and now I won't have to. This Dr is only 5 mintutes away. Yay for saving gas $$! Oh and Nolan is now 18 lbs. He was just over 15 lbs a month ago!!!! : )

Finally made a blog!

So I finally got off my lazy butt and made a blog! As you can see it's all about Nolan, hence the name (hehe).

So a little bit about him. He was born March 8, 2007 at 8:52 pm. He weighed 6lbs 13oz and was 19.5 inches long. (The picture to the right was taken shortly after he was born.)

It feels like it was so long ago when he was that little. As I look at that picture, I can still feel that little boy in my arms. I hope 50 years down the road I can still feel what it felt like to hold my brand new precious baby boy. I honestly can't believe he was ever that little. Boy does time fly and I've enjoyed every minute of it!
